Turmeric produces mind-blowing recovery from dementia symptoms, multiple case studies show

(NaturalNews) If you or a loved one suffers from Alzheimer's Disease or some other form of dementia, there is hope and healing to be found in turmeric. Based on the recent findings of three independent case studies, turmeric, whose primary active ingredient is curcumin, has the power not only to heal both the behavior and psychological symptoms associated with dementia, but also help lead to full recovery of the disease in as little as just a few months.

A traditional cooking spice that has been used copiously throughout India and Southeast Asia for many millennia, turmeric has been the subject of myriad scientific studies in recent years. The circulatory, digestive, and neurological systems of the body, it turns out, are all positively impacted by turmeric, and the seemingly never-ending list of diseases for which the spice is known to provide healing is continually expanding all the time.

This is definitely the case with regards to turmeric's impact on cognitive health, as evidenced by new research out of Japan. The chief physician at Kariya Toyota General Hospital in Kariya City and his colleagues evaluated three separate case studies involving turmeric and came to some fascinating conclusions about the herb's therapeutic value. In each case, turmeric was shown to both relieve dementia symptoms and improve overall cognitive function.

Danger: Cherry-Picked Drug Studies!

200428732-001Drug companies are deliberately keeping the public—and the medical community—in the dark about “unfavorable” clinical trials. Action Alert!

The RECORD trial (see our article in this issue) is just one example of how drug study data can be manipulated by pharmaceutical companies and the FDA. But it gets worse—even if a study finds a drug isn’t very safe or effective, it’s likely you and your doctor will never hear about it.
The problem—called publication bias—is widespread. About half of all drug trials aren’t made publicly available, and positive findings are twice as likely to be published as negative findings for the same drug. Since doctors can access only a small portion of the full scientific picture, they are led to believe that drugs are much safer or more effective than they actually are. This results in a huge gap between what the FDA knows about drugs and what prescribing doctors know.
For example, one independent study looked at all drug trials submitted to the FDA for twelve antidepressants. Thirty-eight of the trials showed positive results, while thirty-six showed negative results. Yet thirty-seven of the positive results were published in peer-reviewed journals, while only three of the negative studies were! Any doctor looking at the published studies would be led to believe that antidepressants were overwhelmingly effective. This is especially troubling considering the many negative effects of antidepressants—including suicidal behavior, and evidence of violent behavior against others.

Consuming certain beverages will dehydrate the entire body

(NaturalNews) Ever wonder what the actual water content is of some popular beverages? Coffee is somewhere around 98 to 99 percent water. Soda is about 90 to 95 percent water. Wine tends to range from 80 to 85 percent water. A light beer is close to 90 to 94 percent water. Tea is approximately 98 percent water. On the surface, based on these numbers, is it any surprise that the average person today tends to think they have easily satisfied their body's daily crucial requirement for water? The 8 to 10 glasses of water that are often preached seems quite easy to attain given the water content of beverages like these. How many coffees and sodas are expended at the office each day? What about the after-work beer or wine relaxer? And when the thirst signal calls again, reaching for another soda seems to satisfy that desire, so it seems.

So what's the problem? It's about perception. People assume that because food and drink generally involve some percentage of water within its composition, that this now takes the place of consuming pure, unadulterated H2O. It's not unusual to hear "well, my soda is mostly water and I've had several cans, so I'm already getting plenty of water everyday." It's widely known that when the body sends out a thirst signal, it is already considered dehydrated. Oftentimes, one mistakes a thirsty feeling for hunger, and as a result, the body remains in a perpetual state of dehydration.

10 Common Nutrition Myths and Misconceptions

Guest Writer for Wake Up World
The most common misconception about nutrition is that we actually know a lot about nutrition.
Fact: no-one studies healthy nutrition and diet in a serious, scientific fashion. We have lots of theories, lots of errors, lots of contradictions, but little true scientific testing in search of truth.
Virtually all of the scientific research into nutrition is ‘illness based’, not healthiness based. This bias creates a lot of knowledge about specific diseases but little understanding of health. When we research ‘illness’, we search for specific causes and specific cures.
Did you ever wonder why everything seems to be bad for you, and almost everything seems to be good for you as well? This is a result of researching illness and ignoring healthiness. Illnesses are ‘specific’. Healthiness is general. Lessons learned by studying illness are poor teachers when trying to attain healthiness.

87 Published Works on Vaccines and Adverse Health Concerns

The Blogger at this page compiled an awesome list on vaccine research. Check it out.

Although safety is not my sole reason for declining vaccines, it is one. I want to take this opportunity to provide a resource - an offer of research that examines the safety and health risks associated when a vaccine is utilized in the determent of a specific disease.

Prescription Drugs Now Kill More People In The US Than Heroin And Cocaine Combined

Prescription opioid painkillers are responsible for more fatal overdoses in the U.S. than heroin and cocaine combined, according to a new study out of Brandeis University.
Opioid painkillers include prescription narcotics such as like Vicodin (hydrocodone), OxyContin (oxycodone), Opana (oxymorphone) and methodone.
"An epidemic of prescription drug abuse is devastating American families and draining state and federal time, money and manpower," Rep. Hal Rogers (R-Ky.), chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, said in a press release.
The authors recommended that prescription drug monitoring programs "shift from a reactive to a proactive approach" by actions such as collecting prescribing data for all controlled substances, sending alerts about possible abuse to physicians and pharmacists, analyzing trend data to help law enforcement agencies identify "pill mills" that illicitly distribute prescription painkillers.
Below is a presentation from the Pew Health Group (which funded the study) that lays out the extent of the problem:
